East Canyon State Park is located in Northern Utah and is approximately 35 miles northeast of Salt Lake City (roughly a 45-minute drive from downtown). 

This state park features RV camping, tenting, cabins, yurts, and a large reservoir that is perfect for many types of water activities. Watch the video below for a walkthrough of the campground, recreation, amenities, and more.

Entrance fees

Day use:

  • Mon thru Thursday: $20
  • Sat thru Sunday & Holidays: $25

Dixie Creek Campground: $40 (water, electric hookups) or $45 (full hookups).  Extra vehicle fees are $25 per night, per vehicle, depending on the hookups offered at the original site.

Conestoga Wagon: $100 M-Th, $130 F-Sun, and holidays (security deposit required).  Wagons can sleep up to 4 people.  Fridge, Microwave, and a small table and two stools.   Contains an outdoor Camp Chef grill and fire pit as well as a picnic table.  Restroom and shower facilities are near these wagons.

RV Rental:  $100 M-Th, $130 F-Sun, and holidays (security deposit required).  Sleeps up to 8 people.  Fridge, microwave, and indoor water, as well as a restroom and shower.  Also includes an outdoor Camp Chef, covered pavilion, picnic table, and fire pit.

Yurts: $100 M-Th, $130 F-Sun, and holidays (security deposit required). These yurts can accommodate up to six people and have ADA accessibility. Each yurt contains bunk beds, tables/chairs, lights and power, and heat in the wintertime.  Dedicated restrooms are available year-round with dedicated showers in the summer months. (Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in or around these yurts; also, the heat may be off May 15 – Oct 15.)

Cabins: $100 M-Th, $130 F-Sun, and holidays (security deposit required).  These cabins can accommodate up to six people and have ADA accessibility. Each cabin contains bunk beds, table/chairs, lights and power, heat/AC, a small microwave and refrigerator, water in the site (in summer) and nearby (in winter), restrooms with showers (summer), and vault restrooms (winter). Unfortunately no pets are allowed in/around cabins.

Hammock Group Campsite: $35.00 a night for the site (great for family/friend hangouts).  The hammock structures can accommodate up to 10 people (great for scout groups and folks who don’t want to tent up).

Hammock rentals are $8.00 per hammock for your entire stay, plus a deposit (bring your own sleeping bag).

The hammock site is located in the Big Rock campground – Site 25

Big Rock Campground: $35 (no water, no power).  Extra vehicles cost $25 per night per vehicle.

Group Day Use

Bauchman Group Pavilion: $100 flat rate (50 people max – note that this does not include your day use fees. )
Pratt Group Pavilion: $150 flat rate (75 people max- note that this does not include your day use fees.)

Group Overnight Camping

Rivers Edge Group Campground: $250 flat rate (100 people max – 30 vehicles max) (pack-in/pack-out)
Large Spring Group Campground: $50 flat rate (25 people max – 20 vehicles max) (pack-in/pack-out)
Mormon Flat Group Campground: $75 flat rate (100 people max – 20 vehicles max) (pack-in/pack-out)

No dogs allowed on the swimming beaches.
Parking is limited and some overflow parking is available.
